Fun fact! That is an actual pattern of carnival glass (thanks to Jenifur for helping me find this again), which was a type of glassware popular in the early 1900s that they'd give out as prizes at carnivals. Red was apparently much rarer than the other colors, so meemaw isn't wrong.

My cat is still outside! He's been found, I know where he is, and he's safe and has been making friends with the strays in the neighborhood. He's literally a half block away from me, and the lady who's been feeding strays at her house is going to stop for a few days and see if that pushes them my way. My stupid cat escaped when I walked outside last night, and now I've been up all night looking for him, so I don't have energy to do much extra today! I need to clean up (again, I took a shower at 2am to wash off all the dirt I crawled around in to try to grab him) and go back to bed. Wish me luck! I almost caught him twice so far, so I feel good about my chances.


I want to post something next week on the 7th, because I still feel like making art, but I'm not in a comics mood, so I'm going to make a summer artwork to post that day instead :). July is going to be a bit weird, because it's my birthday month! But I just took off a lot in May, so I'm trying to keep on schedule for the most part. There will be normal pages next week, one page on the 7th because that's after my birthday weekend, and I'm going out of town later in the month to visit friends, so I'll probably do one page a week somewhere in there. We'll see! I'll let you all know.

That being said, I've finally got some distribution options for the book 2 Kickstarter, and help lined up for pre-press stuff, which means I'm going to be figuring out dates here soon. That being said, I think instead of a pin this time, I'm going to opt for something that's a little less weird to ship as a flat item, as the pins required some extra bulk to package so they didn't damage books or whatever. So, what are some thoughts? I'm thinking either an acrylic character stand, maybe an ensemble image, or taking the route of Dumbing of Age and doing a character magnet set. There will still be stickers, mini prints, and probably also a printed art book if I can swing it. So I need a cool additional item that ships super flat lol.

I like writing Isaac, because I really needed to toss a sort of "grounded and unbothered" personality into Tom's pack for balance, but he came out way more "I don't give a fuck" than I expected. I figure Julian is the one who kind of placates Tom and fights him to get him to calm down, Abigail is the peacekeeper, and Isaac is the one who Tom won't usually cross because he knows he's inviting a real standoff. I feel like Isaac sticks around to protect the other two, and previously, Casey and Ella.
