Okay, the scary part is over. Back to cute.
If I’m going to make a Simpsons reference, I’m not going to be subtle about it.
That top right panel is one of my favorite so far. It’s so cute, and drawing really cute things makes me really happy. Since both of my parents have already passed away, a lot of the way I write her relationship with her parents is just pure wish fulfillment for me. At the same time, I don’t think there’s a lot of positive portrayals of parents in most media. They’re usually portrayed as an obstacle more than anything, and I think that’s kind of sad.
Brief (very brief) break from the flashback, there at the end. There are…three and a half pages left of flashback scenes, and then we’re back in normal time. I’ve really enjoyed drawing these though! Kind of a weird break from the rest of the story, but it gave me a chance to figure out how to draw kids, so that’s been nice.
