Vote at TWC and you can see the Mackinac Bridge from tomorrow's page because sure

Being from Indiana, I admit that I only have a passing knowledge of Michigan, but I wanted to set my comic in a state that was fairly similar (most of the Midwest isn't much different, except in pockets of local culture). I did a big road trip with my uncle a few years ago because he wanted to see a moose, and moose live closer to Canada. We didn't see a moose, but we did see a lot of great trees, and some beautiful views of the Great Lakes, which are both things Michigan has a lot of.

I ended up taking a Google Maps journey along the route that would take these ladies up to the northern coast of the Upper Peninsula, and came across a billboard for this giant clam, which I loved too much to pass up. I think it's important to give context to what Michigan IS for people, because obviously most readers aren't going to live in or around this area. I wish I had more time to render the hell out of some beautiful trees and fields, but maybe in another lifetime when I'm not out of my mind :). In the meantime, just know that a drive through Michigan in the summer is 1) very dull and 2) very green and 3) very gorgeous. 

Just a heads up, I'll be taking a break for Christmas week, like a smart person would, so there'll be one page on the 22nd and one page on the 29th! Pages will be normal next week, though.

I haven't forgotten about my idea for a contest yet! It got a bit waylaid because my life is chaos and I'm trying to get a million things done this month it seems, but we'll come back to it one day! In the meantime, there's new merch up at the Hivemill store. I added some new prints and tshirts finally, so if you like my comic and would like to support me, please go see if there's something you like! HTBAW Fandom Wiki is up and running! Thanks to Myk Streja for tons of help with moderation efforts and everyone else who's done a ton of work on adding information and filling out the Wiki. I know nothing about how this stuff works and I'm too old to learn :D.
