Chapter 10: Something Precious to This Earth

Vote over at TWC and you can see the sketch that this image started from! That's all I have to offer right now tbh

I went into this chapter cover with like, zero time to stew over it, so I just went balls to the wall until it was done. I think that worked! Normally I sit there and make a few scribbles to see what works, but I didn't have the time to do much thinking this week. Too busy! And tired! I genuinely like it. I think every artist kind of frets over things they could change or do better, or that they know something needs to be changed, but they can't quite figure out what it is. (This is my main problem.) Luckily, I'm very chill (SO CHILL) and I don't mind if something I make doesn't seem perfect to my eyes. I like it anyway.

Anyway, I tend to choose my chapter titles from sources that are relevant to the chapter in some way. (I think I pulled the title for Chapter 8 out of my brain somewhere.) Chapter 9 was "For Once, Then, Something", which is a poem by Robert Frost. The poem itself is about looking down into a well and trying to see beyond one's own reflection, and I liked that theme in reference to a lot of the events in Chapter 9. Elias and Vincent coming to see each other more clearly, Ginger coming around to her werewolf self, Malaya stepping up to protect her friends, etc.

So yeah, I guess now I have to go write Chapter 10 or whatever. Oops. It's fine! I have an outline! Go see if you can find the origin of the chapter title :). A hint: the author of the relevant poem is a recently deceased famous American female poet.
